Get Gumped — professional Forrest Gump impersonator on a bench at Chippewa Square

Savannah's Premier Forrest Gump Experience

Life is like a box of chocolates.

Meet Savannah's Forrest Gump impersonator for a walking tour, a special event or a surprise chocolate delivery.

Our Story

Mama always said there's a lot you can tell about a person by their events.

Get Gumped was born on a humid July evening with a simple question: what if your event had a little more heart? We don't just show up in a suit and a pair of sneakers — we bring genuine Southern warmth, the wisdom of a man who's seen it all, and enough charm to make your guests believe, even just for an evenin', that anything is possible.

"I may not be a smart man, but I know what a great event is."

What We Offer

Our Experiences

Whether you're tyin' the knot or treatin' your team, there's a story here for you. And that's all I have to say about that.

Corporate Gatherings

Corporate Gatherings

Icebreakers, motivational wisdom, and guaranteed laughs for your team offsite or company event. Forrest has run across America, played ping-pong in China, and shrimped the Gulf — he's got somethin' to say about hard work.

Southern Weddings

Southern Weddings

A legendary guest appearance, memorable photographs, and perhaps a heartfelt speech about peas and carrots. Your guests will be talkin' about it for years — and that's a fact.

Chocolate Deliveries

Chocolate Deliveries

A surprise doorstep delivery of premium Southern chocolates, complete with the iconic suit and a handwritten note. Because mama always said you've got to share the sweet things in life.

Forrest Gump filming locations along the walking tour

See Savannah through the movie's memorable moments. Along the walking tour, we'll pass these Forrest Gump filming locations:

Chippewa Square

Forrest Gump bench scene location

Our tour begins and ends at Chippewa Square, where Forrest sat waiting for the bus and sharing his story in the film. Visit the famous bench scene filming location with Forrest himself—our professional character impersonator.

The original bench was a movie prop and is displayed at the Savannah History Museum, not in the square. Check the museum's own visitor information to see the prop.

Near Wright Square

Jenny's diner filming location

Pass the original Debi's Restaurant filming location, used as the diner where Jenny worked in Forrest Gump. It's another piece of Savannah's movie history to look out for along the walk.

Debi's later moved to Bay Street. The filming location near Wright Square is the original site, not the restaurant's newer address.

Public tours last approximately one hour. Check FareHarbor for current dates, ticket prices and availability.

Words of Wisdom

From the Man Himself

"Stupid is as stupid does, sir."

On good judgment at corporate events

"Jenny, I don't know if Mama was right or if, if it's Lieutenant Dan. I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze, but I, I think maybe it's both."

On the serendipity of a perfect event

"Run, Forrest, run!"

On our commitment to being on time

Common Questions

Things Folks Tend to Ask

Mama always said, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. So here's what we hear most often.

How do I book Forrest for my event?+

Just head over to the booking page, tell us a little about your event — the date, the kind of gatherin', and what you've got in mind — and we'll be in touch within 24 hours to firm up the details. It's about as simple as catchin' a shrimp.

What kinds of events do you do?+

Corporate gatherings, Southern weddings, surprise chocolate deliveries, and just about anything else you can dream up. If your event needs a touch of unexpected charm, Forrest is your man. There's a 'Something Else' option on the booking form for the truly one-of-a-kind requests.

Where are walking tours held and when?+

Tours begin and end at Chippewa Square in Savannah, GA — the famous filming location of the bench scene. (Fun fact: the actual bench was a movie prop and now lives at the Savannah History Museum.) We run them every Friday at 1:00 PM, and they last approximately one hour. Tickets are $30 per person.

Can I book a private walking tour for my group?+

Yes ma'am, yes sir. Private tours can be arranged for any size group on a date that works for you. Just send an email to Getgumpsav@gmail.com and we'll work it out.

How far in advance should I book?+

The sooner the better, especially for weddings and weekend events. We recommend at least 4–6 weeks of notice for private events. Walking tour ticket availability and checkout are handled through FareHarbor.

Do you travel outside of Savannah?+

Forrest has walked across the whole country, so a little drive don't bother him one bit. We do travel for corporate events and weddings — just mention your location when you book and we'll discuss travel details.

What does a chocolate delivery include?+

Forrest shows up at the doorstep in his iconic suit and sneakers, holding a box of premium Southern chocolates and a handwritten note from you. He'll deliver the message, share a quick story or two, and maybe a hug if it's wanted. It's the perfect surprise for birthdays, anniversaries, or just because.

How do I get in touch with questions?+

Easiest way is to send an email to Getgumpsav@gmail.com or give us a ring at 404-934-0520. We'll get back to you faster than Forrest can run a marathon.

"And just like that, the run was over."

Don't let the moment pass you by. Your guests deserve a story worth tellin'.
